How NEXBITYYC handles personal information on Nexbook: for shop owners and staff, and for clients who book.
Last updated
01Who this covers
NEXBITYYC runs Nexbook from Calgary, Alberta. For shop owners and staff we decide how your information is used. For clients who book with a shop, the shop decides and we process the information for it; questions about a booking can also go to the shop.
02What we collect
- Shop owners and staff: name, email, password (stored as a secure hash by our sign-in provider), the shop's details and settings, and a record of changes.
- Clients: the name, email, phone number and note you type when you book, the booking itself (service, person, time, status), and payment status if you pay online (card details go to Stripe, never to us).
- Technical: basic server logs (time, page, IP address) kept by our hosting providers for security, and the security check described below.
03How we use it
- To run bookings: availability, confirmations, reminders, changes and cancellations, the shop's calendar and alerts.
- To keep the service safe: preventing fake bookings and abuse, and fixing problems.
- To meet legal duties, such as tax and payment records.
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't use it to advertise to you. Booking emails are about your booking; a shop may send promotions only to people who agreed to receive them.
04Who we share it with, and where it is stored
Only with the providers that run the service for us, under contracts that limit them to that work:
- Google Cloud / Firebase: database, files and server code in Montréal, Canada; sign-in, which Google may process in the United States.
- Amazon Web Services: sending emails, in Canada.
- Vercel: hosting and delivering the website, from the United States and its worldwide network.
- Stripe: online payments when a shop turns them on, in Canada and the United States, under Stripe's own privacy policy.
Information processed outside Canada is subject to that country's laws. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
05Cookies and browser storage
No advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. Your browser keeps your light or dark choice, and staff sign-ins. A security check may set its own cookies to tell people from bots.
06How long we keep it
Bookings and client details are kept while the shop uses the service and for as long as the law requires afterwards (payment records: six years). When a shop closes its data is kept 90 days, then marked deleted.
07Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information (except records the law requires us to keep). Write to privacy@nexbityyc.com; it's free, we may confirm who you are first, and we answer within 30 days. Clients can also ask the shop they booked with. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
08Privacy Officer
NEXBITYYC has a Privacy Officer for questions, requests and complaints: privacy@nexbityyc.com, NEXBITYYC, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. We show the date of the last change at the top of this page.
